Whether you wish to go skiing, sledding, snowboarding or hiking: Merano 2000 is the place to be. Situated above the town of Merano, this family-friendly ski area caters to the needs of winter sports enthusiasts while offering a wide range of activities for children: at “Luckis Kinderland”, kids are looked after and can learn basic skiing techniques. 40 km pure skiing pleasure, spread over 9 ski runs of varying levels of difficulty, 25 km routes for snowshoeing in the middle of a magnificent landscape, a fun toboggan run and a cross-country skiing slope: everything is just perfect! Thrill seekers should not miss out the Alpine Bob, Italy’s longest bobsled ride.
     

Sledding at Merano and sourroundings

Winter in Merano is worth a visit every time, as despite its Mediterranean climate, Merano has a lot to offer, all in close proximity. This is thanks to the numerous mountains that surround Merano. For example, you can enjoy a beautiful sledding track in the nearby Merano 2000 ski area. Once a week, they also offer night sledding with floodlights, an experience not to be missed. The Schwemmalm also offers ideal conditions for sledders, and those who wish to rent the necessary equipment will find themselves well-served in either of the two ski areas. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, head to Vigiljoch, where time seems to move a bit slower and you can enjoy a winter paradise without any hustle and bustle. Moreover, Merano is not far from the ski areas in the Vinschgau region.
